We are located in Sarasota, Florida, a large coastal town south of
Tampa. Our student population is approximately 2,300. The campus sprawls
over 85 acres and we have the latest technology for learning at our school.
SHS has a local area network with 1200 computer work stations, closed
circuit television studio, many computer managed and delivered courses
authored by our very own teachers, and the latest advances in
telecommunications, including an e-mail server, an internet server, a
netmodem, and cable modem. Teachers have internet access via our county
wide area network.
Our school offers every academic
and athletic program imaginable, including a magnet school with two
strands of Math, Science and Technology curriculum. The students qualify
for several million dollars in scholarships each year. We have many
clubs and an active student government. Our band, chorus and ROTC
