They're back in a big way, on Warner Brothers records. These guys will rock your world. In a hip-hop, funk, and rock kinda way. A DJ plus an eclectic rock band equals some good music. There's also an old webpage
here.
DeSoto Records' CR page. A midwest version of modern rock, in other words without all the sugarcoating. Any of their 7 inch records are required listening, especially the "feelings..." single. Their first CD was made in the transition of finding their sound.
The best part about this site is that you can order some hard-to-find Frogs' cassettes and videos. There's also a little webpage at Scratchie Records. And a good fanpage here.
Moody, gothic, energitic punk, with a beat you can really groove to. First they were a five-piece band from Stevens Point, and then a power-trio from Madison.
A combination of cerebral rock, techno, and just plain wacky thinking. Created with cybernetic grooves, souped-up guitars, sleek synthesizers, and bluesy vocals.
Sure the band is now dead and gone, but they still rule. With vocals by Michael Gerald that can never be duplicated and a sound that makes grunge seem wimpy, you've gotta love 'dozer.
LBCT has an eclectic mix of funk, energetic rock, hip-hop, jazz and blues from Madison. Includes CD mail order, sound clips, email address, pictures, etc.
If someone said to me that I would like a roots rock/sightly country band, I would've told them they're nuts. But then I heard these guys. The song "Flyover Land" must be heard by all.
Polyvinyl Records' page for RM. A beautiful combination of male and female vocals, delicate drums, emo-corelike guitars. Kyle and Bill, vocals/guitar and drums respectively, are ex - Ezra Pound. Check out the other official page here.
Believe it or not their is some reliable and credible information on the web. This is one of those pages, it has proven it in the past. Most importantly, it has info on local non-Ticketmaster shows.
National Bands
Botfly Their from Michigan, and they rule. There's also a little blurb about them
here. Blue Meanies Two of the band members are from Madison's defunked Weaker Youth Ensemble. However, the band hails from Chicago. Poster Children
