I</B></FONT><FONT SIZE="-1" FACE="Palatino, Georgia"><B> </B></FONT><FONT SIZE="+2" FACE="Palatino, Georgia"><B>graduated from Brown University with a degree in studio art and art history, and</B></FONT><FONT SIZE="-1" FACE="Palatino, Georgia"><B> </B></FONT><FONT SIZE="+2" FACE="Palatino, Georgia"><B>then went on to get an MA in art history at the University of North</B></FONT><FONT SIZE="-1" FACE="Palatino, Georgia"><B> </B></FONT><FONT SIZE="+2" FACE="Palatino, Georgia"><B>Carolina, Chapel Hill. Though I have made my living in museums (until</B></FONT><FONT SIZE="-1" FACE="Palatino, Georgia"><B> </B></FONT><FONT SIZE="+2" FACE="Palatino, Georgia"><B>illness forced an early "retirement" in 1990), making art has always been</B></FONT><FONT SIZE="-1" FACE="Palatino, Georgia"><B> </B></FONT><FONT SIZE="+2" FACE="Palatino, Georgia"><B>an essential part of my life, one of the ways I have justified taking up space on this troubled planet of ours. </B></FONT></H4> <H4><FONT SIZE="+2" FACE="Palatino, Georgia"><B>Naturally, I hope that you enjoy my work, although I realize that it will</B></FONT><FONT SIZE="-1" FACE="Palatino, Georgia"><B> </B></FONT><FONT SIZE="+2" FACE="Palatino, Georgia"><B>not appeal to everyone. But an even stronger hope is that you will find</B></FONT><FONT SIZE="-1" FACE="Palatino, Georgia"><B> </B></FONT><FONT SIZE="+2" FACE="Palatino, Georgia"><B>these carvings sincere expressions of one man's response to the human</B></FONT><FONT SIZE="-1" FACE="Palatino, Georgia"><B> </B></FONT><FONT SIZE="+2" FACE="Palatino, Georgia"><B>experience, and that they are worthy of your time and attention.</B></FONT></H4> <H4><FONT SIZE="+2" FACE="Palatino, Georgia"><B>I would like to thank my good friend Jeff Key, who did the</B></FONT><FONT SIZE="-1" FACE="Palatino"><B> </B></FONT><FONT SIZE="+2" FACE="Palatino, Georgia"><B>photography for Preview Roms 1 and 2. He is not only a fine photographer and teacher,</B></FONT><FONT SIZE="-1" FACE="Palatino, Georgia"><B> </B></FONT><FONT SIZE="+2" FACE="Palatino, Georgia"><B>but is also a sculptor of great and rare talents. The other photographs were taken by me with a Sony Mavica 2.1 megapixel digital camera; please forgive any wayward artifacts.
