Summer of Youth is continually being shot of digital video.  It is a docu-film about the fans of the New York rock combo, Sonic Youth.  The most recent edit, which includes footage from the last two summer tours in 2000 and 2002 has finally been finished.
The band hits the road again this summer and with a little luck and a bag of money, we'll be out there again.  There is now a DVD available of everything assembled to date.  If you were one of the people who helped me work on any part of the production and you would like to see the fruites of your unpaid labor, let me know and I'll get a copy out to you.

Thanks to SY fans (and friends) Carmen and Bryan we have new photos up from more Sonic Youth US tour dates.  Check them out
HERE.

Otherwise, we're still working away at gethering info and footage for for Summer of Youth.  Stay tuned.
August 2002
We're back out on the road again with Sonic Youth as they tour the USA.  We have pictures posted from four cities -
HERE.  And more to come, so check back.

Thanks to all the fans who have cooperated and helped us out.  As well as those who have filled out our
online questionaire.  We're gathering up all the info you've sent to us and plans are in the works to use it soon.

Our site is still getting visitors who see us listed us on the band's
website as well others we've met on the road.  Thanks for dropping by.  Email us if you have any questions about our project.

The Summer Of Youth documentary is still in the works, but we've edited a 10-minute sample chunk of our footage and sent it to the band.  In response, they listed us on the links page of
their website.

A few weeks ago we sent emails to the fans who made the cut and appear in the clips tape to offer them a chance to purchase a copy.  If you didn't hear from us it either means we couldn't read your handwriting or you don't appear in this version of the film.  But anybody who wants to buy a tape can.  They're only $5 to cover the cost of the blank VHS cassette and postage.
Email us here for more info.

We still need more footage of the band and fans to finish the full-length documentary, so we hope to be shooting again soon.

Finally got around to adding the rest of the photos from Knoxville, Atlanta and Raleigh.  We've got footage and pictures from the London show on the way so check back with us for those.
Here's where we keep the photos

We've received lots of email from fans telling us all about themselves and their most interesting, humorous, often troubling Sonic Youth stories - and thanks to all who have shared - but we decided to make it even easier to tell us about yourself or the greatest Sonic Youth fan you know.
CLICK HERE to fill out our online questionaire... remember, we're looking for the ultimate Sonic Youth fans to be a part of our documentary, so fill out the form - you may get a chance to tell SY how much they mean to you.

Three more shows this past weekend... Knoxville, TN on Thursday, then Atlanta, GA on Friday and Saturday was Raleigh, NC.  Thanks to everybody who talked with us or shared their cupcakes.

We're adding pictures from the road every chance we get.
Here's what we have so far.

Raleigh was the last US gig on this leg of the tour, so we'll have to wait a while before we hit the road again.  Although we do have a crew covering the show in London.

Our next task is editing down the best parts of the footage we've shot so far... the band said they'd have a chance to view it when they get back to the states and start the tour with Pearl Jam.

Well, that's it for now.  Enjoy the
pictures.

FGF attended shows in Minneapolis, Chicago and Pontiac, Michigan.  The band has been really cool, letting us hang around with our cameras.  And we've been meeting some really big fans.

Click here for photos of our journey so far.

The emails have been slowly rolling in.  Thanks for writing and telling us how much you love Sonic Youth.  We're still in the planning stages, picking the stories we'll include in our film, so keep those messages coming.

We're off to three more shows this weekend... check back for more stories and photos.
