Over the last few years there have been some remarkable comedy stories. These have been submitted variously for challenges – Hazel's plot untwists, for example. Or those silly revelations from a while back. Or last year's hair-cut challenge.

[18:33] <ChrisC> It doesn't matter whether these stories have been filled with in jokes, out jokes, word jokes or word images. They all have one thing in common: they are designed to make us, the readers, laugh.

[18:33] <ChrisC> This year has – of course – produced some wonderful examples of the genre.

[19:10] <LynnM> Nowhere else can writers find the place to let their inner editor/re-writer run free than in the category of Episode Adaptation.

[19:11] <LynnM> After all, if some of our favorite episodes would have continued just a few minutes longer or if the characters had just made one critical change in their actions, many of the burning questions that plague us would have been answered.

[19:11] <LynnM> Or at the very least, we all could have enjoyed such scenes as presented in those stories being considered for Short Episode Adaptation.

[19:11] <LynnM> For example, if they’d simply given Lois a more comfortable couch, she and Clark would have gotten down to business long before Lois had promised to marry Lex.

[19:11] <LynnM> And once she came to her senses and realized she couldn’t marry Lex, I don’t know which scene would have been more enjoyable to watch; Lois Lane running about Metropolis in her wedding dress or the look on Lex’s face when Ellen Lane informed him her daughter had flown the coop.

[19:11] <LynnM> I’m sure Lois herself would have much preferred the version of TOGOM that has Clark opening his eyes immediately after being shot, saving her a lot of guilt and unnecessary chocolate ice cream consumption.

[19:11] <LynnM> And wouldn’t we all have whipped out our checkbooks, ready to purchase Lois’s snazzy red pajamas with Superman’s crest on the back? Those producers missed a gold mine opportunity to make use of those tatty old capes.
