Barbara Nichols
In Episodes # 35 - Walk a Crooked Arrow and #36 - Walk The Straight and Narrow, Art Carney as the Archer had an assistant, Maid Marilyn. She spent most of her time eating and complaining. Marilyn was played by Blonde - Barbara Nichols.

Barbara
started out as a stripper and was quite popular as a pin-up girl in
the
late
1940's. By 1951, she landed a role on " Broadway
Open House" which
started her actress
career.
She had a way about her- chewing
gum and her thick Brooklyn accent gave her away Her voice always
reminds me of Fran Dresser and she even had an annoying laugh
to go with it.
She usually played " The girl you don't
take home to mother"-
strippers, gun molls, and " dames" .
Her performances were always entertaining and she was a regular on
The Jack Benny Show where Benny,
would
frequently
cast Ms. Nichols as his brash, gum-chewing steady
date
on the
weekly TV series. Her
performances always had great comedic timing and had a lot of heart. 1956
was her most active year in acting, appearing in 5 major motion
pictures with 1965 being a runner up with 4. She appeared on TV in
shows such as -
"Maverick" (1957) , ", The Untouchables" (1959)
,"Laredo" (1965) ,"The Wild, Wild West, " (1965)
and "Emergency!" (1972) . Her last on screen performance
was in the movie "Won Ton Ton, the Dog Who Saved Hollywood
(1976) which also had Art Carney as a star as well as 10 other actors
that appeared in Batman-Doodles Weaver who was a villain
in the " Archer" episode also appeared !
She was a real talent but she cut back on her appearances on TV and the movies in the 70's due to liver disease. It would sadly eventually end her live in 1976.
