Yael Bentov Dagan was born in Beer Sheva Israel, in 1955. She studied design and drawing there, and continued with fashion design and illustration in Montreal, Canada, where she moved in 1973. After a further move to Edmonton in 1983, she took a diploma in Fine Arts and Photography.

Yael has traveled in North America, Africa, Europe, Asia and Oceania including many trips to Australia where she has family, developing her photographic eye in many diverse landscapes and scenes. Yael is also deeply interested in Reiki, yoga and meditiation.
