The US County map:

The infamous All Counties map for your free use! I got it from Greyduk in MN (who doesn’t remember where he got it…) If you decide to use it, I’d love to see it when you’ve finished. You can anon-email me through my profile. P.S. For those of us still on dial-up, please keep the map in .gif format—smaller file, and a better quality image, too.
LATE
BREAKING NEWS!!!
Frank in TX continues to be my hero! Check out his County Map Maker!!! How cool is that? Just copy your Hits by County reports from WG into the window, click “submit here” and Ding! Instant Map! I recommend saving you Hits by County reports in a text file on your puter (something like Word or Notepad is fine) so that you can add each state as you hit your daily report limit. That way, you’ll have all your states in one file. Important to KEEP THE HEADER of the report—the bit where it says:
Hits by County - OK
You have 30 hits in 15 OK Counties
Or the map won’t know what counties you’re talking about. You can adjust the colors and the range limits just like the state hit map on WG. Enjoy!
We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.
***If you do decide to make your own version of the All Counties map, here is THE most helpful link from the Census Bureau! Each state map is listed separately, with county outlines and names! Fits on 8 ½ x 11 paper! Important note: That link goes to a site listing each state’s map through a different link. If you’d like to download and print out ALL the states at once, try this link. It’s a BIG .pdf file, and it shows the counties as they were in the 1990 census (rather than the 2000, which is what the other link has—read about the differences.) Many thanks to Brian in PA for pointing this link out to me.
Oh, and one word of caution: Colorado has added a new county since the map from the Census Bureau was created. Thanks to Sue in Fort Fun for pointing this out! Here’s a corrected CO map.
Second most helpful link, especially when used in conjunction with the Census Bureau link, is a list of counties in each state (in .doc format, a biggish file, set up to print each state on a separate page.). I’ve included the state capitals and the counties the capitals are in—and checked multiple county capitals against the WG zip codes, so the counties listed are the counties where it is possible to get a hit. If you find an error, please let me know. NEW!!! With the help of Artsygal in PA, I now have a .pdf file of the list. Might be easier, if you have the reader. Give it a shot!

Helpful link if you’re not a Friend of WG (though, honestly, if you’re into it at this level and can afford $0.25 per day, you really ought to be a Friend…) Use this cool site to find the counties for your hits.
Great site for finding each county! Click on the state, scroll down to “Geography”, click on the county, and you can find out all kind of nifty stuff about where your bills have gone. Thanks to xpedite for finding this one!
Also, if you’re going nuts trying to find counties in Texas, try this map and see if it helps. If you’re looking for any county, find the color associated with the first letter of the name of the county. It may save some search time. Let me know if you like it! ;) OR---this just in---try this tool (Thanks to Daniel in TX for sharing this)
An online source for creating some county maps. I find the proportions to be very poor, which can make the transition from the monarch county maps to the all counties map difficult, but it can be helpful in identifying where a county is. Personally, I like having a paper copy to mark on & use my coloring book for record keeping.
Frank in TX has created a GREAT tool for making maps of you hits by ZIPS!!!! Places a red dot in each zip code where you have a hit. Easy to use! The resulting map is a bit big, but that helps make it more clear, too. Enjoy! (Here’s a link to my map in progress as an example)
Some outline map links (without names) and some other interesting state map links available from the University of Texas. My WG profile uses the KY outline map, heavily modified, from their links.
Nice maps for printing from National Geographic.
Another resource for county outline maps, but with even worse proportions, and a tendency to split states into two bizarrely shaped chunks. Also, the maps are already colored, so you’ll have to erase the (ugly) colors before you begin.
Here’s a site that has lists of county names, as well as the (ugly) colored maps. Please note that their lists do NOT include independent cities—which is a major problem in VA (and a few other states). See this link (my creation) for a printable version of the county list with all the trimmings—BIG word file!
Two more sites for calculating distances between two places and zip code information (including distances, zips in a radius around a zip, and a general zip locator). Thanks to Scott in Philly for sharing these!
I’m currently working on a page to help folks identify their VA independent city hits…and discovering that the map may need a few alterations. Apologies, and I will replace the map as soon as I can. Here’s what I have so far.
Folks
using the All Counties Map: (Since the
change to WG2.0, the profile links below work, but they are not the current

Please note—if you move your map, the links here won’t work anymore. Send a link to the new location to me and I’ll be happy to update. *** This includes new profile links since WG2.0 changed everything……If you sent a link to your profile to me, but I didn’t get it into the table above, please send the new link. Sorry, and thanks!

Cool map of hit in the US & Canada I got this from Gus in Where’s Willy-land. Here’s a BLANK version more suited to Georgers.

Crummy scan of a bill of mine…later sent the stamper on to the River City Bandit. Never did get the hang of the self inker, though I liked the idea of a circle.

George Score:
I’ve copied & pasted the top of my Your Bills when I’ve had special days, starting with the day I got my George Score. Sometimes, I copied a milestone day (2000 bills entered, Georgeversaries, etc) and sometimes it was just a random day. A few times, I even copied the whole page of statistics. Have fun!
