The Association of Chinese Professionals in West Virginia (ACPWV) is a non-profit organization that was founded in the spring of 2002. The members of ACPWV are composed mainly of Chinese scholars/professionals and their families in the state of West Virginia.

There are three main aims of this organization:

1) To promote the communication among Chinese families
This aim will be achieved by the gathering and family-oriented activities. There will be three major events annually: Summer Picnic (May-June), Moon Festival Party (September), and Spring Festival Party (February). We also have sport, entertaining and family-oriented activities all year round, these activities include ball games, fishing, Kara Okey, cooking, home-improvement clubs, and many more.

2) To promote academic links and collaborations among Chinese scholars/professionals A large number of Chinese in WV are scientists and work on research of various fields. The ACPWV will encourage and promote the academic collaborations among scientists working in the similar research areas or cross fields.

3) To help newly arrived Chinese
As many of us may have experienced, foreign or new environments mean additional difficulty or frustration for you and your family. The ACPWV will reach out and give these new comers a warm hand. We want to assist them in all aspects.

The headquarter of ACPWV is located in "Mountaineer Country," Morgantown, a city of 30,000 residents near West Virginia's northern border. Morgantown is a recreational haven year-round. In fact, Morgantown was recently rated the No. 1 livable Small City in America and the Best Small City in the East. Morgantown is within easy traveling distance of Washington, D.C. to the east, Pittsburgh to the north, and is easy to reach from Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio. Morgantown has the largest Chinese professional/scholar community in the state of West Virginia. Welcome to "Mountaineer Country"!
