FIRST GENERATION 1. Joel Henry COSPER Reverend. Methodist Preacher. He was the Grandson of Heinrich Cosper, who was born in Germany, cameto America in 1768 and settled in Edgefield District in South Carolina. Rev. Joel Cosper led a wagon train with forty-two adults, and sixty-four children. There were twenty-three hound dogs which were used for gaurding the tents at night and hunting wild game for meat. Was a Confederate Soldier, died from wounds recieved in the Battle of Shiloh during the civil war. He married Missouri TENDALL. Missouri TENDALL was born in 1833 in Georgia. Died in 1903 in Harper, Texas. Buried in Harper Cemetery. They had the following children: +4 i. Jacob Thomas COSPER THIRD GENERATION 4. Jacob Thomas COSPER was born in 1860 in Alabama. Died on 7 Apr 1938 in Harper, Texas. Buried in Harper City Cemetery. A Story about Jacob and Sarah Cosper can be found in "Here's Harper Two" pages 70-72. Sarah Minerva MCDONALD was born on 6 Mar 1872 in Gillespi County, Texas. Died on 10 Dec 1967 in Harper, Texas. Buried in Harper City Cemetery. Daughter of Rufus McDonald and Polly Jane Lockhart.
