Hello, my name is Bill and I build and restore Moth boats. The moth is a semi-develoment class that can trace it's roots back to 1929 in Elizabeth City, NC. Well, It's winter 2005 and a new project is in the works. After sailing the Shelly, Memory Lane, for the last three years it became evedent that although the boat is fast, It is not controable in heavy weather. When I built ML I was relying on my memory and old pictures that I had from back in the day. (1963)
This years project is to redeck ML to a more user friendly layout. I'm going to put rolltanks in her and also I'm putting her on a diet. The weight of ML was originally 104 pounds. Most of that do to my inexperience. The target weight now is 75 pounds CLICK HERE to go new pictures |

This is my other hobby.I am building a sailboat. This is a special boat.It would have been the next eveloution of boats if I kept sailing small boats. I sailed a similar boat from 1963 to 1965. I wiill be documenting the construction of the boat as it progresses. Check back from time to time to see how things are going.

This transom gave me a fit. I put resin on it to seal it but the resin would not go off.; Bob fixed it with the West System.. Don't buy Interlux if you work in cold weather. |
