The Wings for Iraq program is a project of love and support that sends personalized Beanies to many individual soldiers stationed in Iraq.
The Beanies come personalized with dog tags, a birthday (4-13-05), a short phrase and the soldier's name on the Beanie.
A few of the Ty Beanies being used are Peace, Halo, Halo II, Harold, Magic, Scorch and Valor.
Each Beanie that reaches a soldier will carry a letter, with a "Thank you, from a loving nation."
The Beanie's dog tags and letter will also be numbered.
Wings for Iraq was started by Jocelyn Hall, co-founder Connie Dohan and Web master David Vogel. This project has been supported by many individuals who have donated their time, creativity, money, Beanies and much more! (Please see the Supporters page!)
The soldiers have also requested Beanies to hand out to Iraqi children who have nothing. Donated Beanies going to the children will be distributed through Beanies for Baghdad, www.beaniesforbaghdad.com.
