| Welcome to our Home Page. We're Dave and Kim Lippy, empty nesters who like to spend our free time enjoying the outdoors. For us, it is a lifestyle. We backpack, hike, canoe, and bike whenever we get the chance. We focus on the smiles not the miles. We're also enjoying our three grandchildren with two more on the way. Dave retired on 8/1/08 after 38 years as an aerospace engineer with Lockheed Martin. To kick off the retirement years, we moved to Franklin, NC and are currently planning to thru hike the Appalachian Trail in 2009. We're not new to hiking or backpacking, but a continuous trip of over 2,000+ miles in six months will be a new adventure. Kim is an avid quilter with quite a backlog of quilts on her to do list. It's one of her labors of love. Kim's Quilts She hosted monthly gatherings of Central Florida quilters which were called Land of Cotton Quilters, until moving to North Carolina where she's meeting a new set of quilting friends. On his 54th birthday, Dave was given a Mountain Dulcimer, and it's been a love affair since. He started the Dulcimer Central group in Central Florida and hosted bi-monthly jams in our home until retiring and moving to North Carolina. Now he's starting to play in the Western North Carolina music community. We also have a passion for Folk Music and Contra Dancing (American Folk Dancing), attending every festival and dance our schedule will allow. Our Contra Dance Site. In 1995, we founded Wilderness Trekkers, Inc., a non-profit outdoor organization. It's purpose is to expose people to the outdoor activities we've come to enjoy. In 2000, with a membership exceeding 1000 throughout Florida and seven other states, we downloaded it to a dedicated volunteer group now runs the operation while we kick back and enjoy the outdoors. Click on the Wilderness Trekkers hotlink for more. Looking to settle in the North Western North Carolina area, these is the Dream home we plan to build or buy (slide show) and the Land specs in what we're looking for. Thanks for visiting our web site. If you're into the outdoors, maybe we'll see you on the trail or river. Home For Sale |
