Welcome to my secret garden.

This is an intensely personal site in that I include only items which are dear to my heart or have caught my attention in some way.

The only theme is that which speaks to my soul.

Nevertheless, I hope that a few kindred spirits will happen upon these paths and find here some space that will inspire them to stop and "smell the roses,"so to speak.

You never know what surprises may lie beyond the next bend as we meander through the groves of my psyche.  Come walk along in the garden with me and I will share
with you some of my secrets.

"Wildflowers are perhaps the most enchanting of all for me.  I love their delicacy, their disarming innocence, and their utter defiance of life itself."

Miscellaneous Musings

She'll let you in her house
If you come knockin' late at night
She'll let you in her mouth
If the words you say are right
If you pay the price
She'll let you deep inside
But there's a secret garden she hides

She'll let you in her car
To go drivin' round
She'll let you into the parts of herself
That'll bring you down
She'll let you in her heart
If you got a hammer and a vise
But into her secret garden, don't think twice

You've gone a million miles
How far'd you get
To that place where you can't remember
And you can't forget

She'll lead you down a path
There'll be tenderness in the air
She'll let you come just far enough
So you know she's really there
She'll look at you and smile
And her eyes will say
She's got a secret garden
Where everything you want
Where everything you need
Will always stay
A million miles away
Secret Garden
Bruce Springstein
The fact is that I did not know how to understand anything!  I ought to have judged by the deeds and not by words.  She cast her fragrance and radiance over me.  I ought never to have run away from her.... I ought to have guessed all the affection that lay behind her poor little stratagems.  Flowers are so inconsistent!  But I was too young to know how to love her..."

Antoine de Saint-Exupery
"Anything will give up its secrets if you love it enough.  Not only have I found that when I talk to the little flower or to the little peanut, they will give up their secrets, but I have found that when I silently commune with people they give up their secrets also - if you love them enough."

-George Washington Carver
