| Valley of the Moon |
| Walking down the dirt path you reach the end of the trail. It opens on to a large valley. The grass here is a strange color, sort of a bluish white. You look around and see a large piece of white quartz, glittering like the stars.. Above it is the moon, and its light focusing on the stone, like a crystal pillar. Upon the quartz sits a large white dragon. You stare at it and you are imediatly mezmorized. Lookiing into the bright blue eyes you are overcome with a sudden wave of relaxation and drowsiness, you slowly sink into the ground and fall asleep... When you wake you find that you are covered in the light of the sun, and speckeled with dew. Getting up you see a small faeiry in front of you. "Hello stranger! I have not many visitors, so what brings you here?" The faeiry asks with great energy. "I was trying to get away from a storm up where Reach lives." Tilting her head she answers "Ahh yes, Reach's speacialty is conjuring storms for protection." Looking at the quartz, you see that the dragon is no longer there. How curious you think to yourself. You should look around more stranger, for if you did you would see that i am behind you. You look back and see that the dragon is floating behind you. Once again those shocking blue eyes, almost as if the water of Meirylls lake was in them. Stranger just as a warning don't look to long or you'll fall asleep again! The dragon snorts, not finding the humor in this you just stare. Emerald taking notice of your puzzeled face laughs and says, "Nieninque has eyes that will render a person or animal into a peaceful sleep. She can control it though, but sometimes it will *slip* or so she says." She shoots a quick look at Neininque and grins. She gives the dragon an affectionate hug. Nieninque swings her head over to you and gives you a big toothy grin, Would you like to flying with me and Emerald? You nod excitedly. You hope on her back, but once you are secure you stomach lurches... ohhhh maybe this wansn't such a good idea. You can feel her haunches tense as the dragon prepares to launch you two into the air. Your grip tightens on the spikes of the dragon's back just as you are launched of the ground. With a few great beats of her wings you look down to see that you are high in the air an can see pretty much all of Durma. It's beautiful isn't it? Even though your fear feels like it will send you into convulsions you sqeak out a yes. You spend hours in the air weaving through out the clouds, circling the hightest peaks in Durma, and at times you would have some other flight bound creature with you. Two were pegususes and there was a fox like creature too. When the sun starts to set you feel the dragons chest rumble with laughter as she prepares for a dive, your faces freezes into a look of horror. With a loud bugle she reaches for the ground. Those few seconds you felt like you were going to die, and you were suprised your voice isn't hoarse. Nieninque pulled sharply up from the dive when she was what lookied like a foot off the ground. You climb upward again but just so her belly barely scrapes the treetops. Finnaly you spot the crystal pillar just as the sun hides behind the mountains. The dragon hovers for a few minutes then slowly lets you two down. Golden Emerald comes flying from the opposite end of the valley with a white plushie in her arms. Looking at the plushie you try to decide what it was made to look like. As Emerald lands and thrust the plushie at Nieninque, "Look darling! I looks exactly like you! " and it did, same type, color, eyes even. Swinging her head around the dragon remarks, Why yes it does! Where did you get it? "Lady Eternal gave it to me." Looking at it once more. "Isn't it sooooo cute?" She scrunched up her face into a sttange contorted smile. Trying not to laugh at Emerald's face you nod and smile at her. Looking torward the sky you see the stars twinkling above you. You look at the crystal and notice that the pillar isn't there. Imeadiatly you glance towards the moon and take note that it isn't full. Didn't Emerald say something a while back about the moon power? The thought knaws at your brain for a while, and you glance back over at the crystal. Once again you see the dragon perched upon the stone, except tonight she has a strange glow around her... sort of like the moon pillar... slowly the glow gets larger and eventually it covers the valley. As it reached you, you felt calm and relaxed. Almost as if you were sleeping, as the night progresses you slowly regain *consiousness*. But your exhaustion leads you to slumber anyways... At what seemed like an hout before dusk you were awoken with a nudge from Nieninque. Wake up stranger i want to show you something before it disapears. You get up grumbling to yourself as you walk toward the center of the clearing. Look strait above you and you'll see a colection of stars. If you can, picture them as a legless griffin. That constellation is named Checarie, she was an ancient griffen of Durma and was also my night caretaker when I was young. Her storie is long and it is in that pile of papers over there if you want to read it. Make your descion before the sun rises over the mountains, for Emerald and I have to go see Danni. And I do not trust anyone in the Valley if I am not here. The dragon stalks off toward the crystal Seeing just the peak of the sun you decide that you only have a few minutes to decide where you want to go, or if you want to read Checarie's Tale. You look to the mountains and see that the sun is just rising.over them. Its time to leave but which way shall you go? To the Meadow? Or torwards the Stables. |
