Color Me Curly! is dedicated to breeding the best of curly horses.  We are breeding for the 3 C's:  conformation, color, and curl.  A good disposition is a given, and a kind temperment is a must.  All of our "potential breeding" curly horses must exhibit these characteristics, and only the best of the best are kept on for "short-term" future breeding. We don't believe in breeding our horses "long-term".  Rather, we breed the most exceptional mares to the best curly stallions we can find, and get a few wonderful foals. We then sell these mares on to good riding homes, where they can be used and live a good life.  Although there are a few cases where a mare can only be used for breeding, we prefer ours to live fullfilling lives, getting daily attention, handling, and riding.  It's a joy to see our curlies go on to be riding horses, whether it's for the showring, or to be a family horse.  We believe each horse deserves a chance to live a useful and happy life. Our curly foals are imprinted starting at birth, and are handled daily.  They are exposed to a variety of things, from dogs and cats, to tarps and towels.  They are all halter trained before they leave, and thoroughly enjoy being around people.  We are located in Phillips, WI.  Feel free to call or email and set up a time to meet us and our curly horses.  Whether you are seriously shopping for a curly, or just looking around, we'd be happy to introduce you to the world of curly horses.
