Since a good portion of the shows covered on this site haven't been shown since their original airings and haven't been released on video, I get a lot of emails on asking where people can find these shows. Because of I don't have the rights to these shows (nor the time and equipment), I can't sell (or give away) copies of these shows. So please don't ask. However, copies of many of the shows can be found in various trading/collecting circles and others, mainly the Krofft shows, are (or were) available through legitimate sources (Amazon, Suncoast, etc...). This page will offer hints and suggestions as to how to find these shows.
One way to find the various episodes is through trading or purchasing tapes from other collectors/dealers. There are various sites on the web that sell/trade tapes, most can be found by doing a web search on whichever show you are looking for. Another online avenue is to try online auctions, like Ebay or Yahoo.
Collectors can also be found through newsgroups. Some newsgroup that might be helpful include alt.video.tape-trading, alt.culture.us.1970s, and rec.arts.tv. If you can't get to the newsgroups directly, you can read or post to them through Google Groups.
If you want to look offline, collectors, comic book/science fiction, and record conventions/shows are a good place to find "rare" videos. Monthly magazines like Big Reel and Movie Collector's World Magazine feature advertisements dealers selling video and 16 mm prints of various old shows. Some of the Saturday morning shows turn up fairly often.
Since the Krofft shows are some of the most popular live action Saturday morning series of the 1970s, it makes sense that they are the shows best represented on VHS and DVD
.

In the 80s, Embassy Video released several volumes of Krofft videos. These videos are currently out of print, but they may be found for rental or in the used bins and they show up on Ebay fairly often.
Here is a listing of what was on those videos:A three hour block of Krofft shows is currently airing on Saturday mornings in California. Cox Cable's Retro Saturday Morning includes Pufnstuf, Far Out Space Nuts, Lost Saucer, Land of the Lost, Sigmund and the Sea Monsters, and the first season of the Krofft Supershow.
Nick-at-Nite has aired two Krofft marathons, Pufapalooza, during the fall of 1995 and once again in the fall of 1997 and TV Land aired the same shows on weekends in December of 1997 and Pufnstuf, Sigmund, the Bugaloos, and Land of the Lost as part of their Super Retrovision Saturdaze line up. Following the ratings success of the first Pufapalooza, the Family Channel aired some Krofft shows (H.R. Pufnstuf, Far Out Space Nuts, Sigmund, Lidsville and the Bugaloos) for a short period on Saturday and Sunday mornings in the fall of 1996. Previous to that, the Sci Fi Channel used to air Land of the Lost on weekday mornings.
The Krofft Supershow, Krofft Superstar Hour, and the Bay City Rollers Show haven't been released on video, but there are copies of some of these shows floating around - so keep an eye out for them.
In 2004, Entertainment Rights, a UK-based company, purchased the bulk of the Filmation library, including Ark II, Ghost Busters, Isis, Jason of Star Command, and Uncle Croc's Block. A message from Andy Mangels, who is working on the the upcoming Filmation DVD releases:

titles. What HAS been announced so far are:

The Legend of Bravestarr
Blackstar
Ghostbusters
The New Adventures of Zorro
The Lone Ranger
Groovie Goolies
Snow White Happily Ever After (feature film)

All Filmation shows (Ark II, Ghost Busters, Isis, Jason of Star Command, Shazam!, and Space Academy) have had episodes aired or been released on video since their original airings. In the past, the UK version of the Sci Fi Channel has aired episodes of Ark II, Isis, Space Academy, and Jason of Star Command.
One note: at least some of the shows have been edited since their original airings, most likely to allow for more commercial time. An example of this is that the final part of the Isis shows, where Isis comes on and talks directly to the viewer about the moral of the story, has been cut from UK airings.
Starting in 2000, TV Land has aired select episodes of Shazam! on an irregular basis. The first episode of Shazam! was released on DVD in June 2005 as a bonus on the third season Wonder Woman Box Set
.
Besides the one episode of Shazam! mentioned above, Ghost Busters is the only show that has been released in the US. To capitalize on the title similarity between this show and the Ghostbusters movie, episodes were released as the Original Ghost Busters. The first video tape was released in 1985 and contained "The Maltese Monkey", "The Cantorville Ghost", and "Whos Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf". Volume 2 had "The Vikings Have Landed" , "Only Ghosts Have Wings," and "Hyde and Go Seek". Volume 3 had "They Went That Away" ; The Vampire's Apprentice; and Merlin, The Magician . The final volume only contained one episode, Dr. Whatshisname. Currently, all of the tapes are out of print, but you can check you local video store or Ebay for used or rental copies.
In 2004, Entertainment Rights, a UK-based company, purchased the bulk of the Filmation library, including Ark II, Ghost Busters, Isis, Jason of Star Command, and Uncle Croc's Block. Hopefully, a video releases of these show (and some of the animated Filmation series) will happen in the near future.
The Unofficial Isis Appreciation Page is working in conjunction with Isis actress Joanna Cameron to get Isis released on video. Visit the site for more information.
To my knowledge, Lancelot Link, Secret Chimp, Skatebirds (and the Skatebirds's segment, Mystery Island), Korg, Westwind, and possibly, Here Comes the Double Deckers, the only other series that has been brought back in the US after the show's original network run.
Lancelot Link aired in syndication in the 1980s and Nick-at-Nite and TV Land have aired it in the past. Six volumes of the show have been released on DVD and VHS
. Each one contains two half hour episodes.

The Skatebirds aired on Cartoon Network in the mid 90s and has recently showed up on Boomerang, the Cartoon Network's spin off channel. These airings were the 30 minute versions and did not include the serialized live action segment, Mystery Island. The Mystery Island segments did turn up on Boomerang, starting in the spring of 2001 as a segment on the Captain Caveman show. Korg aired infrequently on USA as part of one of their cartoon compilation shows (like Cartoon Express) during the late 80s and on TNT during the early/mid 90s. Westwind (and possibly Here Comes the Double Deckers), has aired in syndication as recently as 2001.
In the UK, Here Come the Double Deckers was rerun in the late 80s. In the 90s, Barrier Reef was aired on a Canadian station. In my searches for copies of the various other shows, some of the other ones I have found from dealers or collectors include Run, Joe, Run, Red Hand Gang, Big John, Little John, and most recently, Monster Squad.
I've talked with various dealers who appear at collectors' shows and have been told that that copies of some of others do show up from time to time, so keep looking. If anyone has copies of any of the other shows, please let me know.
In addition to both official and unofficial video releases, other episodes/series are available for viewing at various libraries and museums.
The Museum of Television and Radio, located in New York and Los Angeles, has several Saturday morning series in their collection. For a fee, patrons can watch up to two hours of shows. Many of these shows feature their original commercials.
The Library of Congress, located in Washington DC, also has several Saturday morning series in their collection. There is no charge for viewing the various shows, but you must register with the Library and you have to schedule your visit and select what you want to view in advance. For more information on how to request and view the various shows, go to the Motion Picture and Television Reading Room page.
The Library's collection includes several Krofft shows, including the first episode of the Krofft Supershow, Thunder, Search and Rescue: The Alpha Team, two episodes (not released on video) of the Ghost Busters, Korg, Skatebirds, Here Comes the Double Deckers, as well as various other live action series not currently covered by this site ( 30 Minutes, ABC Weekend Special, Razzmatazz, and Hot Dog. As with the Museum of Television and Radio, many of these shows feature their original commercials.
The UCLA Film and Television Archive, located in Los Angeles, has several Saturday morning series in their collection. There is no charge for viewing the various shows, but you have to schedule your visit and select what you want to view in advance.
