| Pegasus was a winged horse tamed by Bellerophon with the help of a magic bridle from Athena. He was created from the blood spilled from the head of Medusa. When Bellerophon tried to ride Pegasus into the heavens, he was attacked by a messanger from Zeus, fell from Pegasus and was killed. Pegasus traveled on to heaven alone where he became a constellation and a servant of Zeus.
