Fantasy Fillies were the fantasitcal counterpart to the Grand Champion line of horses. Created by the same wonderful equine artist who brough us the Fashion Star Fillies, these etheral horses were stunning - if short lived! - addition to the GC Family.
Like Grand Champions, each horse was beautifully detailed, including a glittery "symbol" on her hip, much like My Little Ponies. Each came with a brush, ribbons & bows, and of course a bio card wich told you all about your filly. The were origonally offered for sale in 1997, and never again.

Star Prancer Fillies ~

The first Fillies were amazingly coloured horses with special light-up flowers & jewels. They were based on the classic & prancing barb stallion poses, but the elegance fitted these mare quite perfectly!
From top to bottom, the classic-posed fillies are Zinnia (pink) and Electra (blue). The prancing posed fillies are Haley (blue) and Aurora (pink). When you pulled on thier golden reins, the flowers in filly's manes and jewel on her forhead would light up - and many still do today, even second hand. |
Fantasy Unicorns and Pegasi ~
From fantastical horses, it wasn't a stretch to imagine these fillies as the beasts of myth and ledgends; beautiful unicorns and pegesi quickly followed. Of the two, the Pegasi are the true winners - with thier long flowing hair, sparkling symbols and graceful, crystaline wings, they are amoung the most beautiful fantasy horses ever. The unicorns are slightly awkwards, what with those inverted crystal spikes sticking out of thier foreheads. Nontheless, both are etherially beautiful, and a must for lovers of fantasy.
Growing Hair Princesses ~
The horses are based on a variety of Grand Champion poses, but all display nicely as fillies (tho some better then others). They do not light up as did the Star Prancer Fillies.
The Unicorns:..................
Jewel (Pink)
Primsa (Blue)
Alexis (Teal)
The Pegasi:
Cirra (Teal)
Ara (Purple)
Zephra (Pink)

The Princess Fillies stunning horses whose long, flowing hair grows even longer - there's a special connection in the forelock that, when pulled, will give your filly a few more inches of tail. Of all the Fantasy Fillies, these ladies are the most obscure. All four horses were released on the running stallion pose, but I must say it looks quite dainty and feminine in all those shades of pink!

Princess Fillies were sold with all sorts off glittery ribbons and bows, and even a glitzy sort of crown made from shimmery cloth. They had stars & flowers that clung to thier mane and tails with velcro, given the young hairsylist lots to experiment with. These horses were basically the horsey equivilant of those hair-styling dolls wich have always been popular.
They are, from left to right, top to bottom:

Mini Fantasy Fillies ~
I love mini fillies! They are perfectly adorable minatures of the pegasi & unicorns, and as they were released in sets of two - one of each - this was the best way to indulge your fanatasy cravings, without taking too much room on your shelf.
| Like the Grand Champion Minis, these little fillies lacked nothing of thier larger counterparts. They are quite common and show up MIB all the time, too. The fillies are:
Meri & Shalla............
Skye & Daria
Celeste & Briella........
Mira & Ivy
Ariella* & Flora..........
Storm & Zoe

*It is interesting note that Arielle actually has purple hair, and not yellow. She's the little filly pictured at the top of the page :)
Several of these fillies are on my Wish List! If you have either - Ariella & Flora, Skye & Daria, or Mira & Ivy and want to trade or sell, please email me :) Preferably in good condition, no breaks, cuts or obvious rubs.
The Royal Carriage ~
![]() |
The Carraige is a beautiful edition to any collection, and this one showed up time and again in Grand Champion line, at the same time remaining aloof. In fact, the fantasy filly's carraige is much easier to find then any realesed with the regular horses!
Here are carraige is drawn by Kristel, a lovely unicorn who, like all of her type, features an impaled crystal for a horn. But her colours really are lovely.
