| Christian Tanna was born on a (probably) cold and (definitely) polluted day in Hamilton, October 23rd in fact - making him a Scorpio if you're into astrology. I'd tell you his chinese horoscope, but I got no idea how old he is - he could be 22, he could be 50. Chris grew up in Peterborough, Ontario, a town which can boast it's own airport AND library. He had a big family and lots of siblings, one of them being Jagori Tanna. One fateful day Jag took up the guitar and after a brief but bloody fight*, Christian decided to try his hand at the drums and found his calling. When he had read all the books in the library and spent too many afternoons watching planes take off, Christian joined his brother |

| brother Jag in Toroto (hereafter referred to as "the t-dot"), and the two began jamming - Chris on drums, Jag on guitar Everything clicked, so the two decided to start a band, and while they were looking for a bassist and singer, Chris tried his hand at writing lyrics - and those lyrics are the reason this page exists. Eventually, they found the other members and, alongside bassist Bruce Gordon and singer Edwin - later replaced with Brian "most successful squeegee kid ever" Byrne, they formed I Mother Earth. Oh, and hey - wanna hear a secret? This guy's nuts. In live shows, he plays in his shorts - even at events that are in freezing weather like SnowJob. He once went on stage buck naked while Moist were playing and demanded they play Silver. But it's all in the name of good fun - and apparently this guy's all about fun. Musical Influences Rush - another t-dot band, lovingly referred to as the "Canadian Power Trio", these guys have been making music since CDs were still science fiction. Their first single was release of Buddy Holly's Not Fade Away in 1973, followed with their self-titled LP in 1974. They've made about a billion albums since then, the last one being Vapor Trails in 2002. Van Halen - Yeah, yeah, they had David Lee Roth - but they key to this band was Eddie Van Halen, a man who did things to a guitar no-one would have thought possible. It was completely over-the-top but also completely original - and it was damn good. Led Zeppelin - These guys came together after the decline of the Yardbirds, and....oh, come on, it's Led freaking Zeppelin. Everybody knows who they are. John Bonham - Was in Terry Web and the Spiders, the Yardbirds, and Led Zeppelin, which is damn fine career for someone who started playing on pots and pans. Reads Jack Kerouac - author of 'On The Road' and 'Dharma Bums', one of the fathers of the beat generation (along with Allen Ginsberg, William S. Burroughs, and Neal Cassady), and just one of the best damn writers in the world Henry Miller - Author of the brilliant books 'Tropic of Cancer' and 'Tropic of Capricorn', both of which spawned a thrity year censorship debate in the U.S. The books dealt with sex too gratuitously for the 1920's audience (you know, they're pretty graphic even for today), and so his books got banned - but Miller eventually won the censorship debate and both books were published by Grove Press. Favorite Movies Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory - if you don't know what this movie is, you gotta move out of you cave and pull the bananas from your ears Month Python and the Search for the Holy Grail - you know, I saw this movie as a kid and was convicned I had dreamed it; imagine my surprise when I saw it in Blockbuster *that's a total lie, there wasn't any fight, I'm just trying to keep the masses interested |
