What is The One-Shot Showdown?
It's a competition designed to put two or more
one-shots in each of five categories (Romance/Drama,
Fantasy, Fanfiction, Spiritual, or Other) against each
other for The Best One-Shot spotlight. Voters will vote
for their favorite shot and at the end of one month, the
winner will be "Spotlighted" on this site along with their
fans' comments and reviews.

What is it?
A one-shot is a piece of original fiction
or fanfiction that begins and finishes within
the length of one typical chapter. It should
drop the readers in the middle of an event or
a character's life and continue on without len-
gthy background explanations. The conclusion
should tie up everything and leave the reader
satisfied or, if it's really good, be a memor-
able and short read. A one-shot must also have
a meaning or a point that is stated subtly in the end.
