You and a group of your 16 year
old friends have discussed abstinence in your relationships. You
have decided that this is the best choice for someone your age. You
are not alone in making this decision. There are others your age
that need to know you feel this way..........
Your goal is to learn about abstinence
so you are able to back up your decision with the research you have done.
You and your research team are to search out reasons why abstinence is
the best choice for teenagers. Your team is to find physical, social,
emotional, ethical, moral, and spiritual reasons to persuade your peers/classmates
to make the decision to practice abstinence.
Your team consists of four members who will take on the roles of:

Evaluation
Before beginning your Quest
you are responsible for developing the criteria to be used for your evaluation.
This Quest is worth 100 points. Once you have correctly developed
your evaluation tool, your instructor will sign it along with all members
from the team. Keep in mind that you must have information from all
four of your team members' perspectives.
When this assignment is completed you will have learned about abstinence from four different perspectives; medical, social, ethical, and emotional.
You should also be able to identify multiple ways to say "no" to sexual activity.
In your journal, write how you might deal with the situation where the person you love wants to go a little farther in your relationship than you are ready for.
What would you say if they used the line, "If you really loved me, you would?"
How would you feel about that person?
Thinking about these things now will make acting on your decisions later easier.
As you socialize with your peers
you will be able to discuss why abstinence is the best decision for someone
your age and its impact on your life.
