Weybridge Rowing Club in the flood of 2003

Almost 3 inches of rain fell in the 10 days after Christmas. In combination with high ground water levels from a wet autumn and the introduction of the new "Jubliee River" flood relief scheme up-river at Maidenhead, this seemingly ordinary amount of rain caused the Thames to quickly rise to levels not seen in this area since 1947. Amazingly, the river was back to normal winter levels within just 9 days.

In these views below, taken on Saturday 4th January, the clubhouse has water lapping against 3 walls and has come in through the boat-bay doors.
