| September 28, 2002: Congratulations to the Westhill Boys' XC Team for their FANTASTIC run at the Tully Invitational today!! Varsity took home 1st place and Junior Varsity captured a 2nd place finish!! In the Varsity race, Westhill ran in the Class A/B race and edged Corcoran (101-107) for the win. Individually, Kevin Blaich finished first for the team and fifth overall. Following Kevin were Rick DeCarr (14), Tim Hartnett- who showed an incredible improvement this race! (18) and Matt Zych (20.) Andrew Lewis finished as Westhill's fifth man (49). In the Junior Varsity race, Mark Leonard decided that he had enough of getting beat, and WON THE ENTIRE RACE! Following him in second place was Jeremy Bongio, and Taylor Mulherin in 8th. Also scoring for JV were Steve Leonard (14) and Chris Pallotta (34). The team finished second, being beat only by powerhouse Tully. The entire race was an enormous success! Athlete of the meet was Mark Leonard! Also, congratulations to the girls' team, whose Varsity team took 2nd place, with the JV girls winning. Nice job guys!! Two invitationals in a row = two big wins. |
