Pole Vault: Jon Martin (5th place) 11'00"
                  Adam Verone 9'06"
The 3000 Steeplechase: Ted Feeley (left) and Rick DeCarr (right) get a little wet at the water barrier....Rick already has the school record for the Steeplechase.
After the race, Teddy and Rick came back to the water barrier and literally went swimming in it....
Jeremy Bongio set a nice PR in the 400 (53.34) to take 5th place....he won his heat (4 out of 5) but displaced a few runners from the fastest heat to place 5th overall.
Matt Zych in the 1600 - he won his heat (he was in the slower of 2 heats) and set a PR of 4:48.36...he finished 11th overall.
The Not-So-Novice Mile: Greg Pallotta (an 8th grader) clocks in a 5:08...he has already run a 5:05 this season.  He holds in middle school record for the mile with this time....Greg is definately possible of going Sub-5 by the end of this year....either way, he is a talented runner that will do very well in high school XC and track.
Dave Riccardi in the 1600....Tim Hartnett also ran the 1600 (in the fast heat)
Two more Novice Milers - Eric Metz (left) running a 5:50.41....and Mishail Kanabar (right), coasting to a 5:36.84 mile...Kanabar is a pole-vaulter, and this is the first time running any distance this season....therefore, this was an incredible effort for a rookie to distance racing.
Westhill's 4x800 team: Led off by Andrew Lewis, then Rick DeCarr, then to Tim Hartnett, and anchored by Matt Zych...it was the last race for all of us after a long day and we just wanted to have fun....we did grab 5th place in the process.
Our 4x800 Team (Lewis, DeCarr, Hartnett, and Zych) getting our new medals for 5th place.
