SUPPORT GROUP

The Western Nebraska Home Educators Network Support Group exists to support homeschooling families with educational opportunities that enhance their homeschool experience and to do this with respect, compassion and tolerance toward one another.  We are open to ALL homeschool families regardless of their reasons for homeschooling, religious beliefs or political affiliations.  The focus of our support group is on the family.  We have an awesome base of parents, both mothers and fathers, who work hard to provide opportunities for our members. It was on our founder's hearts to develop a member driven grace based homeschool network.  Not everyone who participates in our network is a Christian, or considers themselves a follower of Jesus, and that's okay.  We want to be a community  that is actively engaged in this diverse and beautiful world. At the same time, some of us are on a journey of deepening our spiritual practices rooted in Christian tradition and following the teachings of Jesus.  You'll see signs of this quest in most of our events, and some activities will be more deeply grounded in Christian practices.  Members in our network are free to participate in which ever events they feel most comfortable with. Our Family Ministry The opportunities offered through our family ministry include the whole famiy. These opportunities change year to year depending on the interest of our members.  The primary responsiblity for arranging activities and events for the family ministry falls on current members. Our Parent Support Ministries We realize there are as many ways to homeschool as there are parents, and that no one curriculum is perfect.  We believe that each family is unique and the best suitable education for your family varies upon each child. Therefore, our Parent Support Ministries is available to support and encourage parents as they faithfully train and educate their children.  The purpose of the Parent Support Ministry is to provide support and encouragement to homeschooling parents.  The primary responsiblity for arranging activities and events for the parent support ministry falls on the Support Group Coordinator and on current members. Our Student Ministries Our Student Ministries encourage friendships among our homeschool youth.  These opportunities may include all the youth or be offered to a specific age range.  The primary responsibility for arranging activities activities and events for the student minstry falls on the student council and current homeschool members. The benefits of the Western Nebraska Home Educators Network are many. Our heart's prayer is whether you are a longtime member or brand new, you will be blessed because of the ministry provided by our network.
