HOME
The Western Nebraska Home Educators Network Cooperative is an opportunity for homeschooling families to come together, once a week, to share their talents, skills and knowledge with each other in order to supplement our children's education.  A variety of classes including academic and enrichment classes are taught by homeschooling parents and friends of our homeschooling community.  Some of the classes offered through the Cooperative may be impractical if not impossible to teach at home, such as Band, Choir or Speech, making the Cooperative the perfect place to fill in your child's educational gaps.  Other classes are designed to enhance your child's education.

As a family oriented homeschool network we are also about providing opportunities for homeschooling parents to come together.  Our prayer is that the time parents spend at the Cooperative be a time to connect with other like minded homeschooling parents, a time to develop lifelong friendships and a time to discuss homeschooling.  One of the goals of our Cooperative is to lessen the burden placed on homeschooling families.  It is not our intent to create more work for our parents.  Yet, it is true that our parents run the Western Nebraska Home Educators Network, including our Cooperative, and without parent participation the Cooperative would not exist.  We, however, do not require our parents to teach a class during the Cooperative. Some parents love to teach and will offer one or more classes each semester.  Parents not interested in teaching can volunteer to assist with classes or monitor the Nursery, Toddler or Preschool, organize the Pot-Luck lunches, assist with set-up and clean-up duties, or donate much needed items to the Church or the Art Supply Box.  Parents are also welcome to participate in classes either with their child or as a student themselves.  We also encourage parents to offer classes or workshops during the Cooperative for their fellow homeschooling parents.

We thank God for giving us the many blessings we enjoy at WNHEN because of the participation of our parents.  We also feel that if we want a future generation of young people who are willing to serve the Lord and their fellow man, they need to see that example in us.  Therefore, we do ask our parents to prayerfully consider where God would like to see each of us use the gifts He has given us.  "For the ministry of this SERVICE is not only fully supplying the needs of the saints, but is also overflowing through many thanksgivings to God." 2 Corinthians 9:12.

Please note that the classes, offered through our Cooperative, are NOT designed to take the place of what the parent teaches at home.  Our classes are designed to enhance your child's education, not replace it.  The Western Nebraska Home Educators Network Cooperative is
NOT a charter or umbrella school.  We do not offer a complete curriculum for any child.  Parents remain the primary educator and are responsible for overseeing their child's educational needs.
