| The West Memphis Noon Lions Club has a membership of nearly 40 "community service" oriented men and women. We have supported sight and hearing related projects in the West Memphis area since our founding on May 31, 1946. We have a quality club that provides the perfect blend of "small club" fellowship and "big club" energy. We are a mix of men and women who represent a wide range of professions, as well as a large number of "just plain folks" who want to serve their community. We have a down-to-earth attitude in helping the community and are always trying to expand our horizons in order to help others. We have two major fund-raisers -- Lions White Cane Days at Wal-Mart around the first week-end of June, and our annual pancake breakfast on the last Tuesday in March at the VFW club in West Memphis. With the proceeds, we support Lions World Services for the Blind, Lions Mid-South Sight & Hearing Center, The Arkansas Lions Eye Bank & Lab, Leader Dog and Lions Club International Foundation along with many local projects such as our own "Random Acts of Kindness" contest among all the schools where each child writes a short story of an act of kindness he or she has done for someone else. Each year, we also present our "Communitarian of the Year" award to a local individual who has demonstrated a high spirit of community service and involvement. We welcome all visitors and hope to make our "visitors" our "new members." The club meets at Noon every Tuesday at Perkins Restaurant in the Holiday Inn located at 2007 S Service Road, West Memphis.
