This picture was taken by Lewis Collins about 1946. The direction at the top of the picture is West. The road below is Fourth Street. The slanted road is South Main Street; to the left is the Catholic Church and to the right is the downtown area of Ingleside. The large building in the upper left is the new high school built in 1939. Notice the empty lots. There were about 800 people living in Ingleside at this time.
The airplane is flying above Avenue G. The perpendicular road below is First Street. Just below, but not seen, is Elizabeth Cook school. The Corner Hotel (Workingman's) is seen at the corner of First and Main. The downtown area and buildings are seen, the railroad Depot, the Edward's Packing Shed, the railroad track leading to Gregory and the Humble Refinery in the distance, near the top of the picture. Again, notice all the vacant lots in the city of Ingleside in 1946. Lewis Collins also took this picture.
