Debra Messing & Daniel Zelman
September.3.2000

.The Bride & Groom.
Debra Lynn Messing (born August 15, 1968) is an Emmy Award-winning American actress born in Brooklyn to American Jewish parents. She is best known for her portrayal of the interior designer Grace Adler on NBC’s award-winning sitcom Will & Grace, which debuted in 1998.

Actor/screenwriter Daniel Zelman (born in 1967) has had bit parts in a handful of TV shows, including Law & Order, The Practice, and Ned and Stacy (Debra's old sitcom). He co-wrote the Anacondas film sequel and is currently working on a television project for Glenn Close.

Messing and Zelman met on their first day as graduate students at New York University. "He was different from anyone I’d been interested in before. I’m so right out on the table. But he was quiet and introspective. I couldn’t stop wondering about him,” Messing recalled in an article that appeared on Entertainment Tonight's website. After dating for seven years, Zelman proposed in 1998.

.The Location.
The festivities were held at a private estate near Santa Barbara.

The Guests
The guest list of one hundred and fifty included several of the comedienne's "Will and Grace" co-stars and Camryn Manheim from "The Practice".

.The Attire.
Debra, a frequent celebrity listed on those "Best Dressed" lists, turned to designer Vera Wang to create a strwam-lined white wedding gown which showcased the bride's refined sense of style.

The groom wore a suit from Hugo Boss.

The couple's love of classic elegance was reflected in the choice of both the 1950's bezel set engagement ring and the antique diamond and platinum wedding ring. Continuing this ode to the past, the groom's gift to his new wife was a one hundred year old sapphire ring.

.The Ceremony.
The Pacific Ocean in the distance provided the perfect backdrop as the bride made her entrance carrying long-stemmed calla lilies, a flower chosen as much for the fact that they would not induce an allergic reaction from the bride as for their esthetic appeal.

.The Reception.
Newlywed Messing and her "Will and Grace" colleague Sean Hayes entertained the guests with an impromptu version of Britney Spears "Oops!... I Did It Again". Megan Mullally also preformed a song.

.The Honeymoon.
The bride and groom spent their first night as husband and wife at Santa Barbara's Bacara Resort.
