Why We Exist?

Through informal research, we discovered that our community of People Of Color, did not exhibit the informed decision-making abilities of those of our counterparts when faced with using the Internet to increase their knowledge. Our primary aim is to bring the diversity and wealth of web-based information to this community in a manner that is simple, effective and encouraging to development of professionalism.

WebGhost Affiliates Incorporated was born through the need to 'give back' to a community that had supported individuals throughout their development into professionals. These individuals, being members of minority-ethnic groups, have had pressures being placed on them to be as sucessful as their counterparts in countries where inequality is still visible. Without community support, many will fail to complete their journeys, Webghost Affiliates is just one method of support. We are a not-for-profit organisation with administration being purely by self effort and hard work.

Who Are Our Customers?

WebGhost Affiliates Incorporated is currently offered in the UK, USA, Canada and Trinidad & Tobago. We offer a free information service to its users over the Internet. Our target audience are individuals that are interested in

Being a professional in many industries in many countries involves extremely busy lifestyles and not having the time to input into community activites that encourage others to follow in our footsteps. Hence, the birth of the WebGhost Affiliates WebWork (our definition for a web-based network). Our content is squarely facing the members of communities that are considered a minority-ethnic. These could be members of the Asian (all countries), Black (all countries) and Mixed-Race (all countries). We do not exclude members of the European community or members of the ethnic grouping named 'White' or 'Caucasian' because in a lot of countries, these individuals are considered minority-ethnics. Hence our slogan 'People Of Color'. We accept that differing ethnic groupings make for a wonderful variety of indiviuals that all have experiences to share with others. We refuse to acknowledge racism and predjudice amongst the WebGhost Community because this is against our primary aims. We wish to encourage unification and to develop a knowledge base that complements our focus.

How We Did It?

We use free ISP services such as Freeservers and Geocities because in return for discrete banner advertising, we get free web-space. We use webrings to develop web-based communities, we are currently members of the AfroAmerican Webring, Trinidad-Online Webring, Black-British Webring and others. Our own webring is managed by WebGhost to enable total control on memberships for other networks to be affiliated with us. Every member of our webring supports our cause. We have made partnerships with global giants such as Dell and American Express to advertise on our websites in return for commision on sales. We exchange links with many websites such as Lycos, Google and FT.com.

Our YTD(March 2001) statistics show that we have visitors from Europe, USA, Caribbean, Africa and Asia. The majority of our visitors are male over the age of 23 and educated to degree level in fulltime employment.
