My cousin, Elmer Eugene Cotney lived a short life. It ended in South Vietnam in 1966. Lest we forget, I wanted to put up a page for the memory of Eugene. I can remember the last time I saw him at Coleman Baptist Church on Route Two, Lineville, Alabama. The church was only a couple of hundred yards from Eugenes home. Eugene was the son of Elmer Cotney and Louise Lamberth Cotney. I remember Eugene entering the Army and having served in Germany, I think he came home on leave before going to a place called South Vietnam. At that time we didn't know much about the place, but we were to learn more in the years to come. As I write this on April 28, 2000, the 25th anniversary of the fall of Vietnam approaches. We must always remember those who served and the sacrifices made.
