When you burned in bushes And created snakes from poles Back when the sun stood still for an entire day Or when angels climbed back and forth on an earth-heaven stairway When whales swallowed men and they lived to see daylight Or when an angel would come and wrestle in the middle of the night Back when a jawbone of an ass could defeat a thousand men Or when manna fell from heaven to fill us from within When two loaves of bread could feed a gigantic crowd Or when the unity of a shout could send a great wall to the ground Back when men could sit in a furnace and emerge unharmed Or when a dance from David even you would be charmed Let’s go back to the days when we believed VLR |
| OUT OF NIGHT by: Violette L. Reid “Out of Night” is a novel of whimsy and supreme imagination. It is a story of magic, murder and struggle with self and is filled with supernatural creatures, tender love scenes, horrid displays of death and cruelty, awesome fight scenes, spirituality and the power of faith. Although many fantasy novels embody the same warrior theme, “Out of Night” provides a spiritual twist that unites fantasy with the struggle with faith in God and the numinous world.
