THE PUBLIC CRIERS OF VICTORIA GUILD (AUSTRALIA)
The Victorian Guild was formed in 1983 to cater for Victorian based criers, but it became evident that criers outside of Victoria were looking for a Guild that encompassed all of the traditions of Town Crying and maintained the traditions and rules of the Ancient and Honourable Guild of the United Kingdom. In 2004 it was decided to take a name change and spread our wings to cover Australasia, and so was born
The Australasian Guild of Town criers.
We hope you will find some interesting information about our Guild and also about the tradition of Town Criers. In these pages you will learn of the history of Town Crying and its modern day equivalent.
We list all of the members of our Guild and how you can contact them, photographs of recent events and links to other organisations that promote the art of Town Crying.
