| IN VICTORIAN TIMES, the habit of "Taking Tea" each afternoon was not only a custom, but moreover, a ceremony, filled with elaborate rituals. A genteel tea party became a symbol of refinement. In the very early years of the 18th Century, a man named Tom Twining began to serve tea in his London Coffeehouse. However, women were not allowed in coffeehouses, so Twining opened an exclusive teahouse for women in 1717, although it remained, for many years, a pleasure that only the rich and the fasionable could enjoy.......
