The late Dr Ben Brookman, was a member of the Rotary Club of Victor Harbor and a stalwart supporter of the art show for many years. In his memory, his wife Ruve and the family, instigated in 2007 the "People's Choice Award" of $500 to be presented each year to the artist of the painting, judged by visitors to the art show, as being the most popular public choice.
