"My first track was a demo for a friend I was only 15 years old the track sounded like a cross between acid house and down tempo breaks with all types of stuff floating around in the mix, it was horrible but I loved it." Since the tender age of 15 the man has been on a mission to touch heads with his brand of music.
Early 2000 Fred ran into a old friend from the hood. The Dance community would come know him as Jay Locke (Lion DanceTracks)and veriouse gigs around NYC/Miami. "I was on my way to work one morning and I ran into him I was like what's up man he was like what's up bro and we started to kick it after that you know. His love for the music was like the ying to my yang he put me up on mad music. I can't ever repay him for that, love that dude."
From being schooled by the man whom he considers to be "one of the best DJ's in the game today" Fred grew more creative. "I attemp to be as different as I can be, you can tell Tech from House and Nu Jazz from the Broken stuff they all have a core that you can identify, but after that all bets are off I like to mix it up for sure."
Fred is currently working on releasing a few projects that have been on the back burner for some time know. "I was told by someone of whom I have a great deal of respect for that a record comes out when it is suppose to, when he told me at first I did not understand but now I do. I needed time to grow I had to learn how to make songs, befor I just made tracks which is cool too but I had to step it up." With his current project "Life Threw Sound" Fred is re-introducing himself to all the real music heads that enjoy warm deep vibes and lush cords that stir the soul.
"This project is important beacuse it's a new begining. I didn't re-work old tracks into new ones, every song is a brand new thing that I brought to life. It was important for me to go back to formula and find my center and then come correct, I'm glad I did it's truly a new begining."
There is no question that Fred Peterkin is one of those future artist who will be making heads knod and people move on the dancefloor for years to come "Life Threw Sound" is truely proof positive of that testiment.. Peace....
