| Where is Bernadette, and what happened to Beltana's? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| For those who haven't heard yet, Bernadette has been stricken with Guillian Barre's Syndrome, an auto immune disorder that attacks the myelin sheath of the nerves. She was admitted to St. John's on June 20th. After spending almost two months in the hospital, much of it in the ICU almost completly paralyzed, she has now been moved to a physical therapy facility where she is relearning how to walk and regaining the use of her arms. Bernadette can now support her weight briefly if assisted to her feet, and can move herself around in a wheelchair. The recovery from this condition is unpredictable, and can be slow, but she is progressing well and we hope to have her back with us soon. We will try to update everyone as best we can.
