I have been training kestrels since 2001, flying each one in different environments and a few other states. I started the 2007 season late this year by trapping a Male kestrel in California on November 1st. To read more about my 2006 and 2007 season click on the My Falconry link.
If you have a desire to fly a kestrel, I suggest reading everything you can before aquiring one. "American Kestrels in Modern Falconry" by Matthew Mullenix is a must. It covers the basic information about maintaining and hunting with a kestrel.
Before getting any bird make sure you have the time, dedication, and some one that is willing to help you. Good luck with your future endeavors.
