Central New York Cyclist Rides Again
COOPERSTOWN ~~ Riders from the area on the Central New York Cyclist team participated in a road race in Poughkeepsie last weekend. Over 125 riders, including CNYC teammates Mike Jones, Ben Turits, Adam Groff and Peter Martin, raced in the event sponsored by the Hudson Valley Velo Club. The race featured several climbs which benefited Jones and Turits. Jones earned the top finish among all riders with strategic help from Turits, who won the field sprint after blocking other riders from challenging Jones' breakaway. Their teammates did not fair as well in the race. Martin dropped out from the competitive field and Groff was caught in a crash. The next race on the team's schedule is the Canal Classic on August 13.
