"A dedicated revolutionist and intensely patriotic JULIO NAKPIL gave expression to his sentiments in musical compositions. With the sensitivity of an artist he potrayed the bravery and sacrifices of the Revolutionary Army (The Katipunan) in his 1897 composition "PASIG PANTAYANIN", which he fittingly dedicated to it."  -Encarnacion Alzona's "Julio Nakpil and the Philippine Revolution" (Manila, 1964)
