OWEN TUDOR, ESQUIRE OF PENMYNYDD
(or Owain ap Maredudd ap Tudur). He was born around 1400 at Plas Penmynydd, Wales and he was beheaded on February 2, 1461 at the market square in Hereford, England. he was buried in Grey Friar's Church, Hereford. He was the son of Maredudd ap Tudur by his wife Margaret Vychan, the daughter of David Fychan of Anglesey.
He married between 1428 and 1432 :
CATHERINE DE VALOIS
She was born on October 27, 1401 at the Hôtel de St Pol, Paris, France, and she died at the Abbey of St Saviour, Bermondsey, London on January 3, 1437. She was the daughter of Charles VI 'the Well-Beloved' or 'the Mad' de Valois, King of France by his wife Isabeau of Bavaria, the daughter of Stephen III 'the Magnificent' Wittelsbach, Duke of Ingoldstadt-Bavaria and Thaddia Visconti. She had married first Henry V of Monmouth, King of England and had issue by him (see House of Lancaster).

They had the following issue :

(1) EDMUND TUDOR, EARL OF RICHMOND
He was born possibly in 1430, either at Much Hadham Palace, Hertfordshire or at Hadham, Bedfordshire. He died on November 1, 1456 at Carmarthen Castle, Wales and was first buried in Church of the Grey Friars, Carmarthen. His remaines were later moved to St David's Cathedral, Wales. He was created Earl of Richmond on November 23, 1452.
He married in October 1455 at Bletsoe Castle, Bedfordshire :
MARGARET BEAUFORT
She was born on May 31, 1443 at Bletsoe Castle, Beds., and she died on June 29, 1509 at the Abbot's House, Cheyney Gates, Westminster Abbey. She was buried in the Henry VII Chapel, Westminster Abbey. She was the daughter of John Beaufort, Duke of Somerset by his wife Margaret Beauchamp, the daughter of John Beauchamp, 3rd Lord Beauchamp of Blestoe, and Edith Stourton. She was created a Lady of the Garter in 1488. (see her entry under the Beaufort Family for her other marriages)

They had a son, Henry Tudor, Earl of Richmond, who became Henry VII (see entry under his name for more information).

(2) JASPER TUDOR, DUKE OF BEDFORD AND EARL OF PEMBROKE
He was born around 1431 at Hatfield, Hertfordshire. He died on December 21 (or 26), 1495 and was buried at Keynsham Abbey, Somerset if the trems of his will were carried out). He was created Earl of Pembroke on November 23, 1452 and made a Knight of the Garter before April 23, 1459. He was attainted and all his honours were forfeited by an Act of Parliament on November 4, 1461. He temporarily regained his title of Earl of Pembroke from October 1470 until May 1471. He was created Duke of Bedford on October 27, 1485 and formally restored to all his titles on December 12, 1485.
Jasper married before November 7, 1485 :
CATHERINE WYDEVILLE
She was born before 1458 and she died before 1513. She was the daughter of Richard Wydeville, 1st Earl Rivers by his wife Jacquetta zu St Pol, the daughter of Peter de Luxemburg, Count of St Pol and Brienne and Margaret del Balso. She married first Henry Stafford (September 4, 1455 Abergavenny, Monmouthshire - November 2, 1483 Salisbury, Wilts bu Greyfriars, Salisbury), 2nd Duke of Buckingham, the son of Humphrey Stafford, Earl of Stafford by his wife Margaret Beaufort, the daughter of Edmund Beaufort, Duke of Somerset and Eleanor Beauchamp, and had issue by him. After Jasper's death she married third Sir Richard Wingfield of Kimbolton Castle, but left no issue by him.

Jasper and Catherine left no issue, but Jasper may have had the following illegitimate issue by an unknown woman :

ELEN
(or Helen). She married William Gardiner, a citizen of London, and was the mother of Stephen Gardiner (1488?-1555), Bishop of Winchester.

(3) OWEN TUDOR
He was a monk, possibly the man known as Edward Bridgewater who served in Westminster Abbey from 1468/9 to 1471/2. He died in 1502 at Westminster and was buried in Westminster Abbey.

(4) DAUGHTER TUDOR (?)
She is mentioned only by Polydore Vergil, official historian of Henry VII, who lists her as becoming a nun.

(5) TACIRA TUDOR (?)
She appears to have been confused with Thomasina Beaufort, the illegitimate daughter of John Beaufort, Duke of Somerset .

(6) CATHERINE TUDOR
She died young.

Owen had the following illegitimate issue by an unknown woman :

(7) SIR DAVID OWEN
He was born in 1459 at Pembroke Castle (by his own account). He died in 1535 (or possibly as late as 1542) and was buried in the Easebourne Priory Church, West Sussex. He was knighted on August 7, 1485 by his nephew Henry Tudor (Henry VII) at Milford Haven. Sir David married first before 1488 to Mary Bohun, Sir John de Bohun of Midhurst by his wife Anne Arden, the daughter of Sir Piers Arden, Chief Baron of the Exchequer, and had the following issue by her : (a) Sir Henry Owen, he married Dorothy West, the daughter of Thomas West, Lord de la Warr, and had issue by her; (b) Jasper Owen, (c) Roger Owen; (d) Anne Owen, she married a man surnamed Hopton, and had issue by him. Sir David married second to Anne Blount (b.c1466- ?), the daughter of Sir William Blount by his wife Margaret Etchingham, the daughter of Sir Thomas Etchingham and Margaret West. She had married first Sir Thomas Oxenbridge. Sir David married third to Anne Devereux, who was probably the daughter of John Devereux, Lord Ferrers of Chartley by his wife Cecile Bourchier, the daughter of William Bourchier, Lord Bouchier and Anne Wydeville. (She was certainly the granddaughter of Walter Devereux, Lord Ferrers of Chartley by his first wife Anne de Ferrers.)
