EVENT NEWS

It is with sadness that we have to announce that the Toronto International Inline Race Weekend will not be taking place in 2006. The costs of putting on the event are far too great (in excess of $13000) for the TIIRW to survive. Race founder and organizer Peter Doucet put the event into the hands of a dedicated group of individuals who worked together to explore various options for the TIIRW. In the end, the committee decided that the event should not take place in 2006.
[2005 Results]

Thank you to everyone who supported the 2005 Toronto International Inline Race Weekend. Despite a few hangups and lower than anticipated attendance, the races were great and the weather was perfect. There was only one crash all weekend long!
[April 15th 2005] The TIIRW is part of the North American Inline Marathon Series (NAIMS) and has contributed to the NAIMS prize fund. The Toronto Inline Skating Club has been approved for a $25000 grant of which some funds have been earmarked for the TIIRW- the future looks bright!
Wow! What else could be sais about the 2004 edition of the Toronto International Inline Race Weekend?! All the racing was superb, and the event went off flawlessly. With the help of many volunteers, sponsors, and athletes- over 130 skaters, the event is continuing to grow and get better each and every year.
