Brandeis University, Waltham, Massachusetts    January 2000 – September 2007              
Assistant Vice-President, Business Process Redesign March 2006 – September 2007
• Spearheaded functionally driven initiative to redesign manual processes within Human Resources and related departments in collaboration with Library and Technology Services staff and consultants
• Restructured the Human Resources project team to improve communications and accountability
• Initiated discussions to integrate staff and faculty employment records and standard business processes which will eliminate parallel manual data entry and redundant systems
• Championed automated systems beginning with an online recruiting application for staff job openings
• Mapped complex recruitment, compensation, job change and employee termination workflow details to streamline processes, institute online approvals, and provide relevant data to appropriate administrators
• Created and presented supporting project documentation and recommendations to University senior executive staff

Associate CIO/Director Information Technology Services

• Provided leadership and vision for newly created User Services group combining Instructional Technology, Desktop Services, Media Services, and Computer Classroom and Cluster staff into a single collaborative unit in support of the University’s academic and research mission
• Mentored 4 first-time supervisors within the unit delegating budget, hiring, and planning duties
• Initiated pilot program between the instructional technology and library research staff to share responsibility for electronic reserves and supporting course materials using WebCT course management software
• Developed the first comprehensive technology deployment program for all classrooms on campus including capital budget (equipment leasing), classroom design, and faculty training programs
• Organized and stewarded complex implementation of PeopleSoft Student Administration modules: Admissions, Student Records, and Student Financials (completed Summer 2004)
• Designed and introduced reporting mechanisms to track executive-level help desk issues and monitor statistics for all support activities

• Led planning, budget, day-to-day operations, and programming support for implementation of $15 million University administrative system

• Revitalized operation of college library establishing welcoming and academically supportive atmosphere
• Reorganized library staffing to form work teams, expanded library services and hours, reestablished library advisory group including faculty, staff, and local community members
• Managed replacement of library automated system from MultiLis to Innovative Interfaces
• Initiated membership in regional library network (NELINET) and reestablished connection to New Hampshire regional cooperative database eliminating use of CD-ROM for cataloging and distributed library holdings information
• Negotiated contract with EBSCO to establish comprehensive serials management program and eliminated individual title subscription, payment, and claiming processes
• Created interlibrary loan service department, moving from paper ALA forms to online systems increasing volume of loans by 300% within one year
• Obtained substantial (8-fold increase for two years) increase to the library’s acquisitions budget following presentation to Board of Trustees on the state of the collections
• Coordinated reorganization of physical arrangements in the library to expand study areas, introduce group study spaces, logically rearrange the collection, and improve staff work areas.
• Met weekly with the President and executive committee as co-chair of College Strategic Planning committee during year-long planning effort

• Developed curriculum and taught classes on emerging technologies including operating system basics, file management, email, gopher, and FTP

• Trained and supported all library departments in use of automated system; installed and maintained all library networking equipment

• Led all aspects of library automation project including building a team for: selection, installation, testing and on-going operation of library system (Innovative Interfaces)
• Championed library participation in cutting-edge fiber optic network installation on campus
