Here are some of my
pictures from the many excursions I've made intoothe Mojave desert of California and

and even more Mojave National Preserve photos.
The beautiful Mojave
desert, near Ivanpah
The strange rocks of
Caruther's Canyon
Camping at Mid Hills
campground, Mojave National preserve, 1994; great sites, water
available.
Mid Hills by day. Nice
& cool here in Summer... 5500 ft. elevation
The Kelso Depot, once
an important railway stop
The famous Mojave Phone
Booth in the middle of nowhere, which was removed by the National
Park Service in June, 2000, because visitation was having "an
impact on the environment! " (Yeah, right). You could stand
there and take calls from all over the world because of its exposure
on the Internet! Its remoteness was legendary! Was once a payphone
for miners, is now a distant memory , called many a' friend and
family members from there while exploring the Mojave., just because
I could!
Finding my lost truck
amidst the lava flows, Amboy Crater, near 29 Palms, below Interstate
40 . Lost my truck amidst the Lava Flow, called a buddy in Palms
Springs, and was "rescued" 4 hours later!
