| One of the reasons that I started making my own diapers, other than to save money, was because none of the brands I tried could give my son the fit I wanted. He was tall and lean, and most diapers that claimed they would fit his weight range either sat too low on his butt, cut into his baby pot-belly, were too wide between the legs and made him waddle, had too much fabric in the butt and looked poofy, didn't have long enough or wide enough tabs to fasten securely on a wiggly boy, or fit awkwardly around the thighs because the leg openings weren't cut high enough for his stocky, long thighs. I took all of these issues and combined them into a pattern that gave my son a perfect-fitting diaper. I often use recycled fabrics in my diapers and other products. This not only saves me money and enables me to offer them at an affordable price, but it gives me the opportunity to make truly unique, one-of-a-kind diapers you won't find anywhere else! My diaper soakers are usually made up of twelve layers of flannel, sewn to an additional hidden layer of flannel, which is sandwiched between my two outer layers and turned-and-topstitched for a tidy finish. All of my diapers are fitted diapers, which means that they have no waterproof layer and will require a cover. I do not sell covers in my store - check out this page for my recommendations. For extra absorbancy or to get the maximum wearing time from my diapers, I recommend adding a doubler or two, which you can purchase in my store. Since my diapers have a narrower crotch than many name brands, my doublers are narrower as well. Some name brand doublers may not fit well inside my diapers. I currently offer my diapers in five sizes: Newborn (birth-10 lbs), Small (10-15 lbs), Medium (15-25 lbs), Large (25-35 lbs) and X-Large (35+ lbs). Please check my Sizing Chart for measurements, as weight sizes are only approximate. |
