Ball of Confusion

President Bush`s challange to the Zinbabwe elections met a srunning blow in the UN security council which rejected his proposal for sanctions against the recently elected Zimbabwe regime. Both Russia and China vetoed the propsal, ending a streak where the President has successfully used the UN as an alternative rubber stamp body.

Lately, the President has been luckier with the real Congress which docilely enacted legislation pouring another 500 B into the Iraki war effort and granted immunity to various telecommunication companies which engaged in unlawful wiretapping during the Bush regime.

War news vanished from the tabloids which have shifted their focus in the news pages on celebrities and sports personalities. Yet some distirbing news still seeps through. The regime broke ground on a new veteran`s hospital complex to replace vermin infested Walter Reade Hospital. the regime denied that its action was motivated by revelations of prevailing squallor at Walter Reade. A Florida congressman arguing against the closing of a local veterans hospital revealed that the facility was caring for 4000 spinal cord injuries from this war.

Some much for the kick in the door let the roof fall adopted by the regime as the strategy for the war in Irak.

In Afghanistan, a US attack on a wedding party faced immediate reprisal: a successful Arab attack on the Indian Embassy.

In Iran, the Iranis answered The Regime`s sabre wavering with missle rocket tests.

While war news may be carefully controlled and casualties are rarely recognized, we need go no further than the local filling station to see how the conflict is going. Gasoline prices soared above $5.00 a gallon at the pumps in some areas. Spiriling prices of oil have rippled through the economy driving the foreclosure rate to all time highs.

In the midst of tragedy there is humor. Holy Hillery withdrew from the Presidential race pouting that she had outpolled her opponent Barack Obama. She however offered to support Obama if he pays off her campaign debt. The reverend Jesse Jackson called Obama "sin cahones" for acceding to such an offer.
