One of the last pictures from my grandfather June 1940. He is the second from the left, walking with his crew to the aircraft in Cormeilles en Vexin (France). The other crew members died only a few weeks later in a dogfight . |

The following pictures were taken by my father in 1944/45. He made a flight training with the JG101 in Pau (France) and served later for the JG 3 (Udet) and III JG 26 (12 Staffel). He finally was shot down by a british Hawker Tempest at march 7th 1945 flying a FW190 D9 in the vicinity of Enschede (Netherlands) and survived hardly wounded. |

The following section is dedicatet to the french Dewoitine 520 fighter, which was used a a trainer by the german Luftwaffe. This aircraft was not simple to handle and a lot of crashes happened with the unexpierienced german pilots. The JG 101 in Pau (France) has some of these aircrafts and the commander of these unit was in 1944 Hauptmann Walter Nowotny - a famous german fighter ace who was killed later in a Me262 fighter after loosing one engin at low altitude during a dogfight. |
