Founder of the North Texas Cornish Society: Mrs. Nancy Lord

The North Texas Cornish Society honors its president of many years, Nancy Lord.

Many of you know that after years of dedication to the NTCS, Nancy Lord has resigned as President of our organization. We will miss her leadership but she will still be around to offer us advice, support and encouragement. At the April Meeting, we plan to honor Nancy for her dedication to the NTCS, so please mark your calendars and plan to attend. If you cannot attend, send a card to Nancy expressing your appreciation for her leadership and friendship but send it to the newsletter editor's home in Granbury, Texas. If you should call Nancy, please help us keep this a surprise for her.

Nancy was the inspiration, founder and organizer of the NTCS and has worked hard to keep the Society growing which has not been an easy task in an area not known as a destination for Cornish immigrants. She has promoted our Society by attending several National CAHS Gatherings and serving on the board and working at festivals for the local Celtic Heritage Society for many years. Through her efforts, we have enjoyed meeting interesting guests from Cornwall-her door has always been open to them. Nancy and Jess have graciously opened their home to us as a meeting place for our society these many years. Come join us and help make this a special meeting for Nancy.
