Welcome to my movie review page. I, Nick, am a guy who has watched a lot of movies. I decided I would write reviews of them and put them on the web because it's there and I can. Who am I? A literate, semi-liberal thirty-something man with a master's degree in history which I don't use. That doesn't have too much bearing on the web site, but I thought I'd let you know anyway.

What do I enjoy in a film? Good acting, a smart script, unpredictability, suspense and realistic action within the film's own fictional perameters. The premier examples of these to me are, respectively, James Stewart's work, Casablanca, Fight Club, most of Hitchcock's oeuvre, and yes, Terminator 2. Things I don't really take into account when rating a movie include the sets, the musical score and the star power of the actors. Some people do, and that's great, but I don't.

Note: I have seen a great many more movies than there are reviews; I just haven't written reviews for all of them. Yet. This page is, and always will be, of that I have no doubt whatsoever, a work in progress.

Until recently, I didn't watch many films made after 1990 or so. Now, it seems like I watch a lot of new releases as well as older stuff.
